San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) is soliciting offers from eligible energy generators for renewable energy procurement under its Renewable Auction Mechanism (RAM) program, approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in Decision D.10-12-048 and Resolution E-4414. The RAM program supplements the State's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), complements the California Solar Initiative, and promotes small-scale renewable development. SDG&E designed a RAM program for the purchase of a total of 81 MW over two years. This specific solicitation is limited to seeking Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for a total of 20 MW through the auction mechanism for 10, 15, and 20-year terms with Independent Power Producers. The solicitation is not requesting bids for renewable energy credits, feed-in-tariff projects, or other RPS procurement activities. Winning Respondents must enter into a non-negotiable PPA for bundled renewable energy deliveries from eligible renewable resources meeting criteria specified in the RFO document. Respondents may submit up to two offers to this solicitation. The RAM program may present local employment potential in California.
