2026 Solar and Solar Paired with Storage Procurement Program

Duke Energy Carolinas (DEC) and Duke Energy Progress (DEP) are conducting a 2025 Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit competitive bids for energy resources. This RFP process involves multiple stakeholder engagement meetings and a formal bidders conference to ensure transparency and allow prospective bidders to understand the requirements and expectations.

The RFP includes general solicitation tracks as well as specialized solicitations such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other resource types. Duke Energy has established a comprehensive stakeholder consultation process with multiple meetings scheduled throughout 2025 to gather feedback and address questions from market participants, advocacy groups, and other interested parties.

Key dates and milestones include: Stakeholder Meeting 1 on January 29, 2025; Stakeholder Meeting 2 on March 11, 2025; Stakeholder Meeting 3 on April 9, 2025; Stakeholder Meeting 4 on June 18, 2025; Duke Energy response to stakeholder comments on June 20, 2025; and Pre-solicitation Bidders Conference on August 13, 2025. Additional response documents addressing APA-specific comments were provided on June 16, 2025.

All relevant RFP documents, stakeholder presentation materials, responses to comments, and bidder conference presentations are available through the Duke Energy RFP website. Interested parties can register, submit questions, and access all materials through the online portal. The RFP process is administered with support from CRA International.
