AECI – Request for Proposals

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI) is soliciting proposals for 450 MW to 900 MW of firm electric generation capacity and associated energy from dispatchable generation resources with firm physical delivery to the AECI transmission system. The RFP seeks proposals for approximately 450 MW of dispatchable capacity and energy resources with an in-service date no later than December 1, 2030, and an additional 450 MW by December 1, 2031.

Prospective respondents are required to execute a Confidential Non-Disclosure Agreement (CNDA) by May 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM CDT to gain access to RFP documents. AECI encourages prospective respondents to sign the CNDA as presented, though minor redlines will be reviewed and considered. All RFP communications, questions, clarifications, and proposal submissions must be conducted through the RFP Website at https://aecirfp2026.rfpmanager.biz/. Website issues should be reported via email to AECIRFP@1898andco.com.

AECI has retained 1898 & Co., a part of Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. Inc., as an independent third-party consultant to support various aspects of the RFP process. However, AECI will make all final decisions regarding this RFP at its sole discretion.

Key timeline: RFP Issued April 15, 2026; CNDA due May 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM CDT; Proposal Submission and Proposal Fee due June 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM CDT; Shortlisted Respondents notified July 15, 2026; Final Selections announced August 15, 2026; Contract Negotiations to begin August 16, 2026 onward. AECI may modify this schedule and respondents will be notified of any changes.
