Affordable Multifamily Program Upstate

The Affordable Multifamily Program Upstate provides technical assistance, concierge support services, and financial incentives to support retrofits in low-to-moderate-income (LMI) multifamily buildings in upstate New York. The program operates under the LMI Energy Efficiency and Building Electrification (EE/BE) Order from 2026-2030 and supports energy efficiency and decarbonization projects including refrigerator replacements, prescriptive direct in-unit installations, weatherization, electrification, and deep retrofit scopes of work, along with climate resilience enhancements.

NYSERDA will cost share up to 100% of technical assistance and concierge support services costs and up to 70-85% of installed measures costs, depending on building size. Incentives are awarded in increasing tiers on a dollar per dwelling unit basis. The program is designed to serve multifamily building owners in upstate New York seeking to implement energy efficiency and building electrification improvements.

Participating Contractors in approved networks can access the online application portal. Multifamily building owners interested in participating are invited to view the program website and complete an Interest Form. Applicants must adhere to NYSERDA's Accessibility Requirements for any content or deliverables produced intended for publication to the World Wide Web, including documents, audio, video, graphics, web pages, and other multimedia content.
