Annual Procurement of Wire & Cable

Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), the 5th largest municipal electric utility in Florida, is soliciting proposals for a five-year supply contract for wire and cable products. The contract will cover one or more groups of wire and cable categories, with the objective of generating supply chain efficiencies and reducing total cost of ownership through cooperative efforts between GRU and successful supplier(s) and their respective manufacturers.

The scope encompasses multiple wire and cable product categories including primary overhead aluminum, primary overhead copper, primary overhead aerial, primary underground copper, primary underground EPR (ethylene propylene rubber), overhead secondary, and underground secondary conductor wire. Technical specifications for each category are detailed in separate attachment documents with specific performance requirements, material standards, and delivery specifications.

Key dates for this solicitation include a Q&A deadline of June 9, 2026 at 8:00 PM and a proposal submission deadline of June 18, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The RFP was released on May 19, 2026. GRU serves approximately 100,000 retail and wholesale customers in Gainesville and surrounding areas, providing electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications services.

Proposals must address all technical specifications outlined in the attached documents and comply with general terms and conditions, supplemental conditions, and federal terms and conditions included in the procurement package.
