As Needed Crane Services for Power Poles and Electrical Equipment

The City of Pasadena Water and Power Department (PWP) is soliciting competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide as-needed crane services for the transportation, lifting, and placement of power poles, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment at various locations throughout the city. The selected contractor(s) will supply certified crane operators, rigging personnel, and all necessary equipment to safely perform lifting operations in accordance with industry best practices and applicable safety regulations.

The contract will be a multi-year term with work performed on an as-needed basis. Bidders must demonstrate extensive experience in utility-related crane operations and provide proof of appropriate licensing, certifications, and insurance coverage. The scope includes support for routine maintenance, emergency response, and capital improvement projects across PWP's electrical infrastructure systems, including power distribution systems, substations, transformers, and utility poles.

Key dates include a Questions and Answers deadline of March 20, 2025 at 9:00 PM (Pacific Time) and a proposal submission deadline of April 3, 2025 at 9:00 PM (Pacific Time). This is a Labor and Materials contract under Competitive Bidding PMC 4.08.045. All bidders must comply with federal contract provisions, HUD requirements, and City of Pasadena requirements, and must provide material and labor bonds as well as faithful performance bonds.
