CETR – Namao Engineering Design Services

This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks a qualified engineering firm to provide detailed design services for a yard expansion project at the Namao Substation located at 12715-101 Street in Edmonton, Alberta. The scope encompasses electrical, structural, and civil engineering works required to replace two 72kV transmission lines and reconfigure existing 72kV circuit connections, including the installation of a new 72kV dead-tank breaker. The project involves yard expansion, ground grid extension, and the addition or rebuilding of new gantries.

The successful proponent will be responsible for developing both an Issued-for-Tender (IFT) package and an Issued-for-Construction (IFC) package. Additional deliverables include construction scope-of-work documentation, material specifications, and procurement support. The contract includes a 36-month duration with construction support services once the project enters the construction phase. During construction, the engineer will be required to approve shop drawings, concrete mixes, slump tests, and other construction-based approvals as needed.

Coordination with multiple stakeholder groups, including EPCOR internal teams and other project consultants, is mandatory. Protection and Control (P&C), SCADA, and telecommunications work are explicitly excluded from the scope of this engagement.
