Cherokee Nation RFI - RENEWABLE ENERGY & DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES

The Cherokee Nation is seeking information on renewable energy installations and distributed energy resources (DERs) across five proposed sites in northeastern Oklahoma. The RFI solicits responses on diverse renewable technologies including wind, solar, and geothermal systems. Respondents must provide estimated system costs, installation costs, damage prevention considerations, potential carbon reduction impact, maintenance requirements, and estimated annual maintenance costs for each proposed technology.

The proposed project sites include: Cooweescoowee Health Center (395200 W 2900 Rd, Ochelata, OK) with annual consumption of 779,000 kWh and 7,400 therms; Washington County Cherokee Association Community Building (395400 W 2900 Rd, Ochelata, OK 74051) with 17,600 kWh and TBD therms and existing solar; Woody Hair Community Center (1210 County Rd. 487, Salina, OK) with 467,000 kWh; Kenwood Language Services Center (1149 Kenwood Rd, Salina, OK 74365) with 5,000 kWh; and Kenwood Marshal Service Building (1149 Kenwood Rd, Salina, OK 74365) with 9,000 kWh. Each proposed group of clustered resources must fit within 20 acres or be attached to/near identified buildings (e.g., rooftop solar or solar covered parking).

All submitted responses will be treated as proprietary and confidential. This RFI is for planning and budgeting purposes only with no award based on responses. If funding is secured, the Cherokee Nation will issue a formal Request for Proposal (RFP). All future RFPs issued by Cherokee Nation include Indian Preference as a consideration for award, granted only to bidders providing proof of current certification from the Cherokee Nation Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO).
