Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is offering grants to fund capital projects for building and transportation electrification and/or energy resilience projects that demonstrate the feasibility of all-electric technology to the community. The purpose is to support the transition from gas infrastructure to all-electric alternatives by funding projects that showcase cleaner alternatives. Eligible projects include electric vehicles and infrastructure (public EVs, EV chargers, bidirectional charging), building electrification (replacing gas infrastructure with electric equipment, kitchen electrification, heating system electrification), and energy resilience measures (solar and battery storage installations). Projects must be at sites open to the public, include plans for community education and exhibition, demonstrate direct emission reductions, and show replication potential. The program has allocated $3,000,000 in total funding with individual grants of up to $1,000,000 per project. Applications will be assessed based on decarbonization value and replicability (30 points), quality of community engagement and education plan (25 points), quality of project implementation plan (20 points), diversity and creativity of approaches (15 points), and history of grants awarded and success of project execution (10 points).
