Cost Share for Federal Funding Opportunities Industrial Decarbonization and Improvement of Grid Operations (INDIGO) Program and Food Production Investment Program (FPIP)

This grant funding opportunity provides cost share funding to applicants that apply for and receive awards under eligible federal Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for projects meeting the solicitation requirements. The program also supports subsequent funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to continue research from previously awarded federal grants that received Energy Commission federal cost share funding under GFO-21-901 or GFO-22-902.

The solicitation covers two program areas: the Industrial Decarbonization and Improvement of Grid Operations (INDIGO) Program and the Food Production Investment Program (FPIP). Applicants must have received or be eligible to receive federal funding from the Department of Energy under specified FOAs, including DE-FOA-0002936 (Industrial Decarbonization and Emissions Reduction Demonstration-to-Deployment) and DE-FOA-0002997.

Applicants are required to submit comprehensive application materials including project narratives, budget templates, project team information, CEQA compliance forms, references and work product documentation, contacts lists, commitment and support letters, proposal change summaries, funds spent tracking, and project performance metrics. The application process involves multiple addendums and question-and-answer sessions throughout the evaluation period.
