ENERGIZED TREE TRIMMING, TREE REMOVAL, AND DISPOSAL OF DEBRIS

The City of Naperville Department of Public Utilities (Electric) seeks qualified contractors to perform tree trimming, tree removal, brush collection, chipping, and wood/woodchip disposal services for the protection of overhead electrical facilities and distribution lines. All electrical lines will remain energized during work completion, requiring contractors to have specialized training and qualifications for work around live electrical equipment.

The scope includes comprehensive vegetation management along electric utility rights-of-way to maintain clearances and prevent outages caused by tree contacts or debris. Contractors must manage collection of all debris, perform chipping operations, and arrange proper disposal of resulting woodchips and woody materials in accordance with City specifications and environmental requirements.

Key dates include a pre-proposal conference on April 21, 2026 at 3:00 PM, questions and answers deadline of May 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM, and the proposal submission deadline of May 15, 2026 at 7:00 PM. Bidders are required to provide detailed pricing on the Bid Worksheet, proof of insurance, and documentation of contractor safety orientation completion. The City reserves the right to audit all financial records and terms include standard assignment, termination, and default provisions.

All work must comply with City of Naperville General Terms and Conditions, Work Terms and Conditions, and Service Terms and Conditions provided in the solicitation documents. Contractors must maintain specified insurance coverage and comply with all safety protocols outlined in the Contractor Safety Orientation Checklist.
