Engage, Empower, Implement Grant Program Partnering CBO Selection

The County of Sacramento is seeking proposals from Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to partner on the Engage, Empower, and Implement (EEI) funding program, which was created by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG). The selected CBO will work collaboratively with the County of Sacramento Planning & Environmental Review (PER) department to submit a joint grant application for EEI funding.

The EEI grant is intended to support community-based planning and pre-construction development activities within the SACOG region. The County will target outreach within two of four Environmental Justice communities: North Highlands/Foothill Farms and South Sacramento. The partnering CBO will serve as the lead engagement partner with the community, while the County functions as the supporting partner and fiscal agent.

Through a community-led planning process, the selected CBO will engage with residents using various outreach methods to gather feedback that will be compiled into a community action plan. Potential deliverables may include toolkits or playbooks to catalyze future community endeavors, built environment projects, transportation access improvement projects, greenhouse gas emissions reduction and air quality initiatives, or housing opportunity initiatives.

Key dates include a Q&A deadline of July 6, 2024, and a proposal submission deadline of July 12, 2024 at 9:00 PM. The grant application was officially opened by SACOG on May 31, 2024. Applicants must submit proposals according to the specified format and content requirements outlined in the RFP documents.
