Fabricate and Install Utility Service Bodies

The County of Sacramento is soliciting bids for fabrication and installation of five (5) nine-foot utility service bodies mounted on five (5) brand new, County-owned, 10,000 pound GVWR, single rear wheel, regular, extended and crew cab and chassis units. The successful bidder will receive brand new cab and chassis units from the manufacturer with no pre-modifications and will be responsible for all modifications and installations related to body mounting, including all mechanical and electrical modifications necessary to make body accessories and equipment fully operational. The completed units will be used by Sacramento County as municipal utility service trucks. Bidders should note that due to limited chassis availability, some or all units may be ordered as all-electric chassis from various manufacturers.

The body builder must ensure that any equipment, modifications, parts, and labor not specifically outlined within the written specifications but necessary to meet specification requirements and make units fully functional are included in the bid. Detailed Service Body Specifications and Draft Purchase Order documents are attached for review.

Key Deadlines: Questions and Answers deadline is November 22, 2024 at 11:00 PM. Proposal submission deadline is December 12, 2024 at 11:00 PM.

The procurement is managed by Robert Bigney, Senior Contract Services Officer at Sacramento County's Department of General Services, Capital Assets and Planning Services Division (DGS: CAPSD). Bidders are required to submit questions through the Question/Answer section of the RFB platform and should carefully review all attached specifications and terms before submitting their bids.
