Feed-In Tariff II: Clean Solar Initiative FIT

The Clean Solar Initiative Feed-In Tariff II (FIT II) was established by the LIPA Board of Trustees on October 3, 2013, under SC-11 to interconnect up to 100 MW of distributed solar photovoltaic resources. The program was designed for systems with a nameplate capacity equal to or greater than 100 kW and up to 2 MW. Accepted applicants received a fixed bid price of $0.1688 per kWh under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with LIPA.

The FIT II program is now closed and no longer accepting new applications. The program was part of LIPA's efforts to expand renewable energy generation on Long Island. The tariff details are referenced in Leaf No. 254-255D of LIPA's Tariff for Electric Service.

Key parameters included a 100 MW total capacity cap, a fixed price of $0.1688/kWh, and a 20-year contract term. The program targeted commercial-scale solar PV installations between 100 kW and 2 MW.
