Feed-In Tariff II: Non Solar FIT

The Clean Renewable Energy Feed-In Tariff II (FIT II Non-Solar) was a procurement program established by the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) to support up to 20 MW of non-solar renewable energy resources on Long Island, New York. Established by LIPA Board resolution on March 28, 2014, the program was designed for projects with a nameplate capacity equal to or greater than 100 kW and up to 2 MW. Accepted applicants entered into a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with LIPA at a fixed bid price of $0.1548 per kWh.

The FIT II Non-Solar program is now closed and no longer accepting new applications. The program was administered under LIPA's Tariff for Electric Service (Leaf No. 255E-255H). Eligible technologies included renewable resources other than solar photovoltaic, such as wind, biomass, and other qualifying non-solar renewable generation.

This program represented LIPA's second feed-in tariff offering for non-solar renewables, following the earlier FIT I program. The fixed price mechanism was designed to provide revenue certainty for developers and encourage deployment of diverse renewable energy sources on Long Island.
