Feed-In Tariff III: Commercial Solar FIT

The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) established the Commercial Solar Feed-in Tariff III (FIT III) program by resolution dated September 21, 2016, under service classification SC-11. This program was designed to procure up to 20 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation from systems mounted on commercial customer rooftops or carports, with individual system capacities ranging from 200 kW to less than 1000 kW. A fixed clearing price of $0.1649 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) was offered to all projects accepted into the FIT III program.

The program is now closed and no longer accepting new applications. The FIT III program was part of LIPA's broader Clean Solar Initiative to expand renewable energy generation on Long Island. Eligible projects were required to be interconnected under LIPA's tariff for electric service and meet the size and location criteria specified.
