This Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO) aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies at California food processing plants. The program seeks to demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of these technologies, help California food processors transition towards a low-carbon future, and deliver benefits to priority populations.
The technologies funded through this solicitation will help reduce energy costs at food production facilities, maintain product quantity and quality, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with food production. Eligible applicants should be food processing plants located in California seeking to implement energy efficiency improvements or renewable energy installations.
Two submission deadlines are available for applicants: the 1st Round deadline is January 25, 2023 by 11:59 p.m., and the 2nd Round deadline is March 8, 2023 by 11:59 p.m. A pre-application workshop was held on November 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM via remote access to assist potential applicants. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by November 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
