GFO-25-308 - Distributed Clean Hydrogen Production with Onsite End Use (H2ONSITE)

This grant funding opportunity supports the demonstration of distributed-scale hydrogen production facilities (up to 5 metric tons per day) that are co-located with storage and end-use applications. The primary goal is to reduce clean hydrogen production costs, decrease retail prices, and decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors through practical, operational demonstrations.

Applicants must submit applications through the Energy Commission Agreement Management System (ECAMS) portal. All required application materials include screening forms, executive summary, detailed project narrative, project team documentation, scope of work, project schedule, budget forms, CEQA compliance documentation, past project information, commitment and support letters, project performance metrics, applicant declarations, and environmental/community engagement references. CEQA compliance is a mandatory requirement.

Key dates include a pre-application workshop scheduled for June 16, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (remote access only), a questions deadline of June 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM, and the final submission deadline of August 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the workshop and submit questions during the designated period to clarify solicitation requirements.
