The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is seeking qualified firms to submit proposals for the design, procurement, and installation of new residential and small commercial photovoltaic systems as part of a bulk purchasing effort to lower prices. The group buy program aims to reduce solar installation costs through coordinated procurement and market development.
The MREA will coordinate and deliver a minimum of six free, public Solar Power Hour information sessions marketed through email blasts, paid social media promotion, promotional partnerships, and press releases. Presentations will include both webinars and in-person events to educate the public about solar energy options.
Key dates for this RFP include: RFP announcement on February 20, 2026; questions due and posted by March 6, 2026; proposal submission deadline of March 20, 2026; and firm selection occurring between March 23-27, 2026. The MREA has a track record of facilitating over 70 Solar Group Buy programs around the Midwest between 2013 and 2025, reaching over 14,500 individuals with Solar Power Hour information sessions and leading to more than 24,900 kW installations on over 3,400 properties.
Proposals may include alternative implementation models, including power purchase agreements if they become legally available in Wisconsin. Interested firms should download the complete RFP document and submit their proposals through the designated submission portal.
