Hickory Substation Transmission Reels Storage

The City of Denton is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for the construction of a storage structure for transmission cable reels at the Hickory Substation. The major work consists of constructing a 20' x 30' structure on a concrete foundation and relocating two 84,000 lb. transmission cable reels to within the structure.

Responses must be submitted as sealed proposals by the specified deadline. The City of Denton seeks contractors with considerable experience and a proven track record in providing goods or services of this nature. The selected contractor shall demonstrate the ability to accomplish all aspects of the requested services and provide innovative approaches and cost-effective solutions to address the municipal requirements.

Submission Requirements: Original hard copy bid bonds with raised seals are required before the submission deadline. Email submissions will not be accepted. The City recommends that respondents do not wait until minutes before the due date to submit proposals, as the submittal process may take significant time. All submissions must include completed CSP Key Personnel Resume Forms, CSP Past Experience Forms, Conflict of Interest Questionnaires, and Unit Price Proposals.

Key Dates and Events: The question cut-off date for submitting inquiries is May 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM (CT). The proposal submission deadline is May 27, 2026 at 2:00 PM (CT). A public opening will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 2:45 PM (CT), available both in-person at the City of Denton Development Service Building, Training Room One, 401 N. Elm Street, Denton, TX 76201, and virtually via Microsoft Teams meeting.
