Innovation for Affordable Building Electrification (PON 6162)

NYSERDA seeks innovative solutions to advance building electrification, reduce peak loads, and improve efficiency of the building stock in New York State. This funding opportunity targets the commercialization of affordable technologies with strong potential to rapidly scale across residential, multifamily, and small/medium commercial markets. Projects must be committed to New York State sites and address one or more of the following innovation topic areas: Energy Efficiency, Electrification, or Load Management.

Eligible solutions must demonstrate strong potential to advance NYSERDA's core mission in the buildings sector through reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, increasing affordability, and/or enhancing resilience in existing buildings. NYSERDA has no predefined funding amount or number of awards based on topic area, and will evaluate proposals based on their merit and alignment with program objectives.

Key dates include an informational webinar scheduled for June 3, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. ET to provide details on solicitation requirements, project requirements, and the application process. The submission deadline for Round 1 is July 23, 2026. Respondents must submit full proposals through the online application portal and review the Summary document prior to submission.

Applicants are required to use the provided application forms including the Proposal Form (Attachment A), Statement of Work (Attachment B), Budget Form (Attachment C), and TRL/CRL Calculator (Attachment D). A Sample Agreement is available as Attachment E. All contractors must adhere to NYSERDA's Accessibility Policy for web-based deliverables including documents, audio, video, graphics, and multimedia content.
