Inspection, Services and Repairs for CNG Trucks and Service Vehicles

The City of Pasadena Public Works Department seeks a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive fuel system inspection, service, and repair for the City's fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicles, including sanitation trash trucks and municipal service vehicles. The selected contractor must perform periodic regulatory fuel cylinder inspections, post-accident cylinder evaluations, and general CNG fuel system maintenance and repairs in accordance with NGV-2 guidelines, all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) requirements.

All inspections and repairs must comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and be conducted by qualified CNG-certified technicians. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring all work meets regulatory standards for compressed natural gas fuel systems. This is a Labor & Materials contract (Competitive Bidding PMC 4.08.045) with the City of Pasadena.

Key dates include Q&A deadline of January 8, 2026 at 10:00 PM and proposal submission deadline of January 20, 2026 at 11:00 PM. All submissions must include required forms including master labor and materials contract, relevant experience documentation, performance and material bonds, federal certifications, and subcontractor listings. The City will evaluate bids based on contractor qualifications, experience with CNG systems, pricing, and ability to meet all regulatory compliance requirements.

Submissions are to be made through the City of Pasadena procurement portal. Prevailing wage requirements apply per State of California. Bidders must provide evidence of proper insurance coverage and comply with all HUD requirements and federal contract provisions as outlined in the solicitation documents.
