KOHLER EMERGENCY POWER GENERATORS AND TRANSFER SWITCHES

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Kohler Emergency Power Generators and Transfer Switches for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible small business quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106- 2(B)(3). This is a brand name requirement and a total small business setaside. Brand name Justification: This is a brand name acquisition for Kohler Power Systems brand, 12 KW emergency power generators (EPG) and associated power transfer switches. These EPG's and transfer switches are used at NOAA Weather Radio transmitter field sites for emergency power backup, in cases where commercial power sources become unavailable. These EPG's and transfer switches will be procured on a firm fixed price basis, from a pool of distributors who can supply this item from the manufacturer, Kohler Power Systems.The 12RES-QS11 Emergency Power Generators and KCS-CP1 Automatic Transfer Switches are required because the units being procured must be form, fit, function and environmentally compatible with the many other identical Kohler EPG's and transfer switches already installed at fielded NWR sites. DOC, Eastern Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
