Lift Station# 1 Improvements (Grant Funded)

Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is soliciting bids for improvements to Lift Station No. 1 (LS No. 1), located at 3311 SW 2nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. The lift station currently collects raw wastewater and conveys it to the Kanapaha Water Reclamation Facility (KWRF). The project involves upgrading the station from its current configuration of two interconnected wet wells with four submersible pumps (three 75-HP and one 35-HP jockey pump) to three 140-HP pumps and a 45-HP jockey pump to accommodate current peak and future flows.

The scope of work includes construction of a new electrical building, electrical equipment installation, control system upgrades, piping modifications, and civil work. Critical to project success is the requirement that the lift station maintain its current pumping capacity during all phases of construction with no service interruptions. As the largest lift station in Gainesville, careful construction sequencing is essential.

This project is partially funded by the Resilient Florida Program through the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection. All work must comply with Davis-Bacon Act wage certification requirements and domestic preferences for procurement. The project documents include detailed specifications, engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and survey information. Contractors must examine all solicitation documents and conduct a site visit prior to submitting proposals.
