Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) and its partnered customers seek to procure Carbon Free Energy projects, including California Energy Commission (CEC) eligible Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) resources, hydroelectricity, nuclear, and paired and standalone storage. SVCE is seeking resources with Initial Delivery Dates between 2024-2030, for a minimum term of ten (10) years and a maximum term of twenty (20) years. Eligible resources include: 1) RPS: Projects meeting eligibility criteria for Portfolio Content Category One Eligible Renewable Resource (PCC1 ERR), including small hydroelectric generation, solar photovoltaic, wind resources, biomass, biofuel, and geothermal resources; 2) Non-RPS: Projects from any type of electric generation that does not directly emit carbon dioxide – e.g., hydropower, demand response, and facilities using carbon capture and storage; 3) Paired RPS and Storage – all storage technologies with the ability for SVCE to set charging and discharging requirements that are physically paired with renewable generation; and 4) Standalone Storage – all storage technologies with the ability for SVCE to set charging and discharging requirements. Projects must be located within CAISO or at delivery points interconnected to the CAISO. Projects identified to reside within Transmission Planning Regions as identified in the CAISO Transmission Planning Process are eligible.
