McIntosh Power Plant Covered Parking

The City of Lakeland is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive design, fabrication, shop drawings, and construction services for multiple covered parking structures at the C.D. McIntosh Power Plant. The project consists of eight (8) distinct parking areas throughout the plant facility. The selected contractor will be responsible for the complete scope including design, preparation of shop drawings, fabrication, and full installation of the parking systems. The City of Lakeland reserves the right to award all or part of the parking areas to one contractor based on pricing and other selection criteria established in the solicitation.

The contractor must verify all field conditions and shall bring any constructability concerns to the City's attention prior to fabrication. The vendor is fully responsible for ensuring proper installation and alignment with Florida Building Code requirements. Site walkdowns can be scheduled at the C.D. McIntosh Power Plant prior to bid submission to allow prospective bidders to review site conditions, ask questions, and fully understand the project scope. Background: The C.D. McIntosh Power Plant has been supplying power to Lakeland Electric customers since the early 1970s. The decommissioning and demolition of the old steam units and supporting office structures removed the existing covered parking facilities. This project aims to provide safe and protected covered parking for employees and plant visitors. Key deadlines include a Q&A deadline of June 29, 2026 at 9:00 PM EST and a proposal submission deadline of July 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM EST.

All required documentation, indemnification forms, safety evaluations, human trafficking affidavits, and technical drawings must be included with the proposal submission.
