Northampton-Easthampton Electrification

The Northampton-Easthampton Electrification Campaign supports the decarbonization of small residential buildings (1-4 units) in Northampton and Easthampton, Massachusetts. The campaign aims to accelerate the adoption of residential electrification measures including heat pumps and weatherization to help the state reach its 2050 greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals. The program assists both moderate-income homeowners and rental property owners in planning and completing electrification projects. Eligible participants may receive: assistance coordinating the implementation of weatherization, heat pumps, and other electrification measures; enhanced air sealing; and rebates for installing heat pumps. Each participating building will receive an electrification and decarbonization plan, including direction to financing options and a recommended implementation timeline. The campaign is coordinated by MassCEC in partnership with service provider Revise, staff from Northampton and Easthampton, Mass Save's Community First Partnership team, and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. Funding comes from Eversource as part of the company's settlement to buy Columbia Gas.
