Notice to Bidders - El Portal West Rule 20A Undergrounding Utility District Project

The City of San Pablo is accepting sealed bids for the El Portal West Rule 20A Undergrounding Utility District Project (Project POR-20A). The project is located along El Portal Drive between Road 20 and Mission Bell Drive in San Pablo, California.

The utility undergrounding project consists of removing poles, overhead wires, and related aerial electric, cable TV, and similar communication facilities. Work includes constructing underground utility facilities comprising conduits, vaults, splice boxes, and conductor wires. The project also incorporates installation of fiber optic cables and routing capabilities. To replace street lights currently supported by timber utility poles, the project includes erecting steel street light standards/poles served by underground electric conduits. Where feasible, new street lights will be installed in medians with dual mast arms.

Bids must be submitted in sealed form to the City Clerk's Office at 13831 San Pablo Avenue, Building #1, San Pablo, California 94806. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on the closing date. Bidders must be on the planholder's list to submit a bid. Key dates include: Bid Start Date of September 14, 2016; Pre-Bid Meeting on September 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the project site (not mandatory); and Bid Close Date of October 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
