OEI Net Zero Schools: Dodgeville High School- Request for Information

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is seeking information to support a feasibility analysis for solar photovoltaic, energy storage, and/or energy management systems at Dodgeville High School in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. This RFI is part of the Net Zero Pathways (NZP) for Schools initiative, which helps participating schools develop roadmaps to achieve net zero energy and emissions goals.

The school is specifically interested in a ground-mounted solar system with an educational component to offset electricity usage for the High School Greenhouse space serving the agricultural program. The target system size is 10 kW. Dodgeville High School currently uses 1,201,700 kWh per year at an average rate of $0.14/kWh (totaling $166,101) and 62,876 therms per year at $0.649 per therm (totaling $34,460). The school is billed through Alliant Energy Utility's commercial rate structures (CG-2 Commercial TOD Service for electricity and GC3F Gas Firm Service for natural gas).

RFI responses should address: system design, pricing and installation considerations; general design strategies and options including educational components; equipment recommendations and specifications; performance expectations including financial and non-financial benefits; price estimates and available incentives; product availability and installation timelines; relevant example projects and case studies; and company experience, interest, and availability.

Key dates include: RFI Release Date of April 3, 2026; RFI Questions Due by April 17, 2026; and RFI Responses Due by April 30, 2026. Responses will inform the decision-making process and may lead to future independent procurement activities.
