Potable and Reclaimed Water Distribution Controls and Communications Upgrade - Electrical Contractor Services

The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) is seeking qualified electrical contractors to provide services for a critical infrastructure modernization initiative upgrading Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and network communication systems for potable and reclaimed water distribution operations. The project addresses vulnerabilities in legacy systems while positioning the District to meet modern reliability, security, and performance standards.

The District's water operations encompass 61 remote sites across difficult terrain. This project will focus on 10 of those sites with validation testing of the proposed backbone strategy. The scope includes establishing a wireless backhaul communications system upgrade serving as the backbone for all future improvements, comprehensive site surveys, network design, and development of a prioritized roadmap for network upgrade projects.

Electrical infrastructure requirements include installation of new control systems hardware in pre-existing control panels, electrical wiring, and radio and telemetry equipment installation and setup. The District has partnered with The Rovisys Company for SCADA-related planning and design elements. Work must be completed while operational facilities remain in service during construction, requiring technical expertise in electrical installation and communications infrastructure.
