Precast Concrete Manholes

The City of Austin Electric Utility, doing business as Austin Energy, has issued Invitation for Bids (IFB) IFB 1100 AGM1007 for the supply of precast concrete manholes. These manholes will be utilized in Austin Energy's underground transmission, distribution, and communication systems across the utility's service territory in and around Austin, Texas. The successful contractor must be qualified to supply Type A precast concrete manholes conforming to the detailed specifications outlined in the attached Specification E-0897 and other supporting documents.

The scope of work requires the contractor to provide precast concrete manholes that meet the technical requirements specified in Specification E-0897, which includes dimensions, reinforcement, materials, testing, and delivery conditions. Offerors must submit a completed Pricing Submittal Sheet (provided as an attachment) with their bid, detailing unit prices for each item. The contractor will be responsible for manufacturing, quality control, and delivery of manholes to designated locations as ordered by Austin Energy. The bid also requires compliance with insurance requirements, local and small business preference programs, wage theft certification, and subcontracting plan documentation as outlined in the solicitation attachments.

Key dates for this solicitation include the publication date of July 6, 2026, and the response deadline of July 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM Central Time. Bids must be submitted electronically through the City of Austin's eResponse system. A bid opening will occur on July 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The successful bidder will be required to maintain appropriate insurance coverage as specified in the Insurance attachment. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all specifications and terms. All attached documents must be carefully reviewed and completed as part of the bid package.
