Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) is requesting bids from qualified painting companies for furnishing labor, equipment, and materials for sandblasting and coating natural gas metering stations located in Greenville, North Carolina. The scope of work includes services at three metering stations: LNG Heater Metering Station at 4150 Natural Gas Drive and Greenville Gate Station #3 at 3371 MacGregor Downs Road.
The work scope for LNG Heater Metering Station includes sandblasting and applying coating for 4 linear feet of 2-inch pipe, 48 linear feet of 3-inch pipe, and 11 linear feet of 6-inch pipe, plus wax-sealing of 17 flanges. Greenville Gate Station #3 requires sandblasting and coating for 3 linear feet of 2-inch pipe, 4 linear feet of 3-inch pipe, 61 linear feet of 4-inch pipe, and 114.5 linear feet of 6-inch pipe, along with wax-sealing of 58 flanges and wrapping of 1 six-inch riser with H-35 tape.
The work must meet NACE No. 1/SSPC-SP 5 White Metal Blast Cleaning specifications and include specific coating requirements: prime with 4 mils Sherwin Williams Zinc Clad 4100, intermediate coat of 8 mils Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646, and finish coat of 5 mils Sherwin Williams Acrolon Ultra High Performance with UV additive in ANSI 49 PNG gray (or Sher-Loxane 800 where subject to heavy condensation). Additional requirements include covering stone areas, protecting valve components, furnishing and erecting tents over work areas, applying Tapecoat H35 over riser pipes, sealing flanges with Trenton Innercoat Flange-Fill, and site cleanup.
Bidders must provide a lump sum bid inclusive of mobilization, demobilization, labor, materials, direct expenses, and profit. The successful company must demonstrate five years of practical experience and successful history in similar painting or recoating work, possess applicable North Carolina licensure, and provide a Certificate of Insurance. Bids are due by 3:00 PM EST on February 26, 2026, with questions to be received by February 19, 2026 end of business day.
