Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is seeking a Consultant to provide Technical Assistance (TA) for its Community Grants program. The program will launch in Spring 2026 to support Community Organizations in developing electrification projects. The Community Grants program will provide capital funding for Schools, Community-Based Organizations, and Nonprofits to advance projects that include building electrification with efficient electric equipment upgrades and energy resilience with the installation of solar paired with battery storage. The selected Technical Assistance provider will partner with grant awardees to aid with the planning, development, and implementation of their electrification projects, ensuring that awardees have the guidance needed to successfully execute their proposed work. The Consultant will work with each grant awardee that opts-in for TA to assess their individual project's needs, offer planning support, coordinate with SVCE, and to relay project progress as needed. The Technical Assistance will support two categories of projects: 1) Building Electrification - replacing gas appliances, related piping, and inefficient electric resistance equipment with efficient electric equipment, such as heat pump space and water heating technology and induction cooktops; and 2) Building Energy Resilience - creating energy resilient building opportunities with the installation of solar paired with battery storage, or adding battery storage to existing solar on a building to function as a resilience center. Tasks include administrative coordination, providing technical design and planning services (site assessment/feasibility analysis, advising for design and construction planning, contractor bidding, identifying external funding sources), supporting project implementation, and assisting with project completion and education support. The compensation to be paid to the Consultant for all services shall not exceed a total of $300,000.00.
