RFB for Aluminum Sulfate Bulk Chemicals

Greenville Utilities Commission is seeking sealed bids for the furnishing of Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) bulk chemicals for use in drinking water treatment. The estimated six-month usage is 900 dry tons, with pricing to be quoted on a dry ton basis only. The product must be supplied as a liquid aluminum sulfate at 50% concentration with a specific gravity of 1.33, delivered in bulk tanker truck quantities of 45,000 to 48,000 lbs per load.

The chemical must meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 60 and 61, comply with ANSI/AWWA B403-98 standard, and meet all requirements set by the North Carolina Department of Environment Quality and American Water Works Association recommendations. All shipments must include a Certificate of Analysis, certified net weight tickets, and Safety Data Sheets. The supplier must provide an affidavit of compliance with ANSI/AWWA B403-98 standards with the bid.

Delivery shall be made to the Greenville Utilities Water Treatment Plant at 1721 Waterway Road, Greenville, NC 27834, with delivery hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (no holiday deliveries). Contractors must notify GUC of delivery driver name, trailer number, and seal numbers prior to arrival via fax (252) 551-1493 or email to gregorrm@guc.com, patricje@guc.com, or evanslb@guc.com. Guaranteed delivery must be within five (5) days of order date. All delivery costs must be included in the unit price; no fuel surcharges will be accepted.

The initial contract term runs January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026, with options for up to 24 additional months at the same or negotiated unit prices. Bidders must provide delivery time in their proposal, which will be a factor in bid evaluation. GUC reserves the right to reject any or all bids and cancel the contract if contractor fails to meet delivery or performance dates.
