Greenville Utilities Commission is soliciting sealed bids for the furnishing of labor and construction services for the Boviet Substation, a 115 kV to 15 kV distribution station designed for three 20 MVA base power transformers with two units to be installed initially. The work includes installation of steel structures, cable trench, conduit, ground grid, and all associated electrical components and equipment.
The scope of work encompasses assembly and erection of Owner-furnished steel structures including columns, beams, pedestals, and trusses on drilled pier foundations; installation of eight Owner-furnished 15 kV breakers and two Owner-furnished 115 kV circuit switchers with associated grounding and power leads; assembly and installation of group operated and hookstick switches; assembly of bus insulators, arresters, conductors, and connectors; installation of swaged aluminum bus compression connectors using contractor-supplied installation tools; furnishing and installation of control system conduits and cable trench interconnecting control cabinets for transformers, circuit switchers, breakers, reclosers, regulators, relay panels, and battery systems; and installation of subsurface ground rods, ground grid conductors, and exothermic connectors with proper bonding to all conductive surfaces.
Key dates include: questions deadline of April 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM EDT; bid opening on May 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM EDT; desired project completion within eight weeks from Notice to Proceed. The contractor is responsible for all temporary structures, electrical lighting and power distribution systems, permits, licenses, and inspections. Liquidated damages are assessed at $4,000 per calendar day for failure to complete work within the construction schedule. Delivery of equipment to the site is FOB customer's site at Boviet Substation (coordinates 35°39'28.9"N 77°20'59.8"W), with delivery hours between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday-Friday only.
