RFB for Underground Cable Replacement In Southgate Apartments

Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) is soliciting sealed bids for the underground cable replacement project in Southgate Apartments, located in Greenville, North Carolina. The scope of work includes the installation of underground (UG) distribution cable in 2-inch roll pipe, cable terminations, switching cabinets, precast pads, and padmount transformers. All equipment pads will be replaced with new precast pads, and transformers will be replaced as needed based on conditional assessment. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and other necessary items to complete the project, with GUC providing all materials related to the installation.

Liquidated damages are assessed at $500.00 per calendar day for failure to complete the work within the construction schedule.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder based on completion date, adherence to Plans and Specifications, contractor capabilities, crew experience, past performance, and conditional quotations in U.S. dollars. A 5% bid security (cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond) is required. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract price. The contractor must maintain commercial general liability insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 per project, automobile liability insurance of $1,000,000 combined single limit, and workers' compensation insurance with statutory limits. The contractor must possess a current State of North Carolina Board General Contractor's License.
