Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of three types of electrical wire and cable products for distribution system applications. The solicitation includes 6,000 feet of 1/0 Triplex overhead cable (Stock #204640), 48,000 feet of 1/0 15KV underground primary cable (Stock #201360), and 40,000 feet of 350 MCM 600 Volt underground triplex cable (Stock #201330).
The 1/0 Triplex overhead cable must consist of three conductor triplexed assembly at 600 volts with two #1/0 AWG and one #1/0 AWG conductor, constructed of aluminum to Class B specifications with 7-strand construction and 60 mil cross-linked polyethylene insulation rated at 90 degrees Celsius. The cable shall be shipped on 1,200-foot reels with maximum dimensions of 60 inches diameter by 37 inches width.
The 1/0 15KV underground primary cable must be URD jacketed concentric neutral cable rated 90 degrees Celsius for duct or direct burial installation. The cable shall include solid aluminum intermediate temper EC-1350 aluminum conductor with extruded semi-conducting shield, 220 mil ethylene propylene rubber insulation, 16 helically applied #14 AWG bare copper neutral wires, and a 50 mil outer HMWPE/LDPE jacket with 3 red stripes. The cable must comply with AEIC CS8, ICEA S-94-649, ASTM B-230, ASTM B-231, and ASTM B-609 standards. Cable shall be shipped on 3,000 foot non-returnable reels per NEMA WC26 with maximum dimensions of 78 inches diameter by 56 inches width. Two copies of certified test reports showing partial discharge less than 5pC to 50 kV AC must be furnished prior to invoicing.
The 350 MCM underground triplex cable must consist of three conductor triplexed assembly at 600 volts with two #350 AWG phase conductors and one #4/0 AWG neutral conductor, constructed of aluminum Class B with 37 and 18 strand configurations respectively. Phase insulation shall be 95 mil and neutral insulation shall be 80 mil free-stripping cross-linked polyethylene rated at 90 degrees Celsius, UV protected, with the neutral identified by a permanent yellow stripe. Underground cable shall be shipped on 1,000-foot non-returnable reels (30 required) with maximum dimensions of 60 inches diameter by 37 inches width.
Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the bid name and opening date/time, addressed to the Procurement Manager at 401 S. Greene Street, Greenville, North Carolina 27834. Bids submitted by fax or email will not be accepted. Two copies of each proposal must be received by the deadline. Bidders must specify the brand name and manufacturer of cables quoted and provide expected delivery time. All bids must include an Exception Form identifying any deviations from specifications. An E-Verify compliance letter is required. Quantities specified are estimates only, and GUC reserves the right to purchase more or less than stated quantities based on actual needs. Delivery shall be FOB GUC Warehouse at 701 Utility Way, Greenville, North Carolina 27834, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday only. GUC purchase order number must appear on packing slips and related documents. Delivery time is a consideration in bid evaluation.
