American Electric Power Service Corporation (AEPSC), as agent for Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), is soliciting proposals for the construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas pipeline lateral and associated natural gas facilities to serve the Rockport Natural Gas Project located in Rockport, Indiana. The Gas Facilities will supply the plant with natural gas as the primary fuel source. The company also seeks offers of mainline firm transportation capacity.
The objective is to obtain reliable natural gas supply for the plant beginning on its Commercial Operation Date (COD) estimated at December 15, 2029. Fuel for testing must be available at the plant site prior to COD. All construction and interconnection activities should be completed with sufficient time to provide intermittent startup and fuel for testing beginning approximately April 1, 2029 (to be further negotiated and determined).
Key dates include: Draft RFP issued January 12, 2026; Notice of Intent to Bid and Submission of Credit Requirements due February 2, 2026; Final RFP issued February 9, 2026; Bid Submission deadline May 6, 2026; Bid Clarification period May 7-29, 2026; Bid Selection June 10, 2026.
