Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) seeks qualified contractors to perform a major overhaul on a 1,500 ton Trane CenTraVac centrifugal chiller located at the South Energy Center (SEC) in Gainesville, Florida. The chiller (Model CVHF147NA3P0FCZ321F2BBFZBA00000060A10040LS00004A100B, Serial L08C01579) has accumulated approximately 52,000 run hours and requires comprehensive overhaul services to ensure reliable operation. The SEC provides chilled water services to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida and operates with limited backup chilled-water capacity, making reliable equipment operation critical.

The chiller is located on the third floor of the SEC between two additional chillers with limited overhead space, which contractors must account for in their proposals and work planning. The facility requires a high level of reliability to support hospital operations. Work must be scheduled for completion in Fall 2026, no earlier than October 1, 2026, to align with seasonal demand patterns and facility requirements.
