SUB-CH-MAT-G-4 15KV SWITCHGEAR ENCLOSURE ADDITION FOR GROVE SUBSTATION

Lakeland Electric seeks qualified bidders to design, engineer, and supply a prefabricated 15KV switchgear enclosure addition to expand Grove Substation. The extension will attach directly to the existing switchgear housing and must be engineered as a weather-proof, walk-through metal enclosure. The enclosure shall be equipped with three 1200-amp feeder breakers, a 2000-amp main bus, a 1200-amp transfer bus, 1200-amp load break transfer bus switches, one 2000-amp tie breaker, and a 2000-amp main breaker.

The contractor shall complete full design of and provide all protective relaying, panels, test switches, control switches, lockout relays, terminal blocks, shorting blocks, blank plates, and all other necessary equipment for a complete protective relaying system installation. Work shall be performed according to provided relay panel elevation/BOM and typical drawings. The contractor shall supply and install the control panel system for housing protective relays and all associated equipment and perform all wiring as described in the panel wiring drawings, excluding incoming wires from the field.

Key challenges include utilizing the same foundation design and elevation as existing structures, creating a weather-tight connection to the building, and ensuring reliable electrical connection to existing terminals. The project requires coordination with Lakeland Electric's expansion of an additional transformer and bus work at the substation facility.

Important dates include a pre-proposal meeting on June 11, 2025 at 14:00, a questions and answers deadline of August 7, 2025 at 16:00, and a proposal submission deadline of August 13, 2025 at 19:30. Bidding is open and the RFQ was posted on May 20, 2025.
