This Request for Information solicits input from interested stakeholders to help NYSERDA, in collaboration with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, develop Sun and Soil program offerings. The initiative aims to help farmers benefit from the integration of solar energy development on agricultural land while maintaining valuable land assets.
The RFI seeks information and diverse perspectives on challenges to, potential benefits of, and opportunities for responsible co-utilization of solar energy with commercial agriculture. This includes, but is not limited to, agrivoltaics, solar energy and battery storage microgrids for powering farms, and other means for farmers and agricultural communities to benefit from the integration of solar energy development in ways that sustain agriculture.
NYSERDA does not intend to publish responses to this RFI. Results from this RFI may inform the NYSERDA Environmental Research Program's future solicitations. Respondents should note that NYSERDA requires contractors producing content intended to be published to the World Wide Web to adhere to NYSERDA's Accessibility Policy, which applies to documents, audio, video, graphics, web pages, and other multimedia and streaming media content.
