The City of Denton is soliciting proposals for utility line locate services through a competitive Request for Proposal process. The selected contractor will provide comprehensive utility locating services to support the City's infrastructure management and damage prevention initiatives. Respondents may submit proposals for one or more categories of services as outlined in the detailed scope of work documentation.
The contract will be awarded for an initial one-year term, with the City and Supplier having the option to renew for an additional four one-year periods. Unit prices will be fixed for the initial term, with potential Consumer Price Index (CPI)-based escalation available in renewal years using applicable CPI indices. The City anticipates planned system expansions, new subdivision developments, right-of-way construction projects, and major infrastructure expansion projects during the contract term that may increase locate ticket volumes.
Proposals must be submitted via IONWAVE or hard copy only (no email submissions). All questions must be submitted via IONWAVE by the established deadline. The City strongly recommends that respondents submit well before the due date, as the submittal process may require significant time. A bid bond is required post-award; however, no other performance or payment bonds are requested.
Contractors must maintain Commercial General Liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, as well as Business Auto Liability of $500,000 combined single limit. The insurance policy must name the City of Denton as additional insured and include a waiver of subrogation in favor of the City. Respondents must have a minimum of five years of experience providing similar products or services, with experience in utility locating specifically preferred. The City has no specific DBE/MBE/WBE participation goals for this contract.
