Virtual Power Plant Approaches for Demand Flexibility (VPP-FLEX)
California Energy Commission is offering grant funding for virtual power plant (VPP) approaches that aggregate distributed energy resources and controllable loads to provide demand flexibility services. The program targets projects demonstrating VPP technologies that can shift or reduce peak electricity demand across residential, commercial, and industrial customer segments. Successful applicants will design, pilot, or deploy VPP control systems, platforms, or market integration models that integrate solar, batteries, EV charging, heat pumps, and other flexible loads.
