Well 16 Power Upgrades

This project involves the replacement of the existing electrical system at City of Idaho Falls Well #16. The scope includes replacement of a 75 horsepower and a 150 horsepower vertical turbine booster pump motors. The Contractor shall furnish all tools, labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work.

Additional work includes replacement of the existing motor control cabinetry with a Soft Starter for the deep well motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for the two new booster pump motors. A new 1,000 kilowatt generator and accompanying transfer switch shall replace the existing generator. The project also includes lighting and HVAC upgrades.

Bid documents are available for examination at the Public Works Department office at 380 Constitution Way, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402. Complete sets of project bidding documents may be purchased at this location during business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday). A $25.00 fee applies for document copies. Bid documents may also be requested via email to the Engineering department.

The bid was published in November 18, 25, and December 2, 2018. An addendum was issued on November 30, 2018. The bid closing date and time was December 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Sealed bids were to be submitted to the City Clerk at 308 Constitution Way, P.O. Box 50220, Idaho Falls, ID 83405, with bid opening held in the Annex Conference Room.
