San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E)'s 2027-2032 Reliability Request for Offers seeks offers for: (i) Mid-Term Reliability (MTR) Resource Adequacy (RA) capacity to come online by and between June 1, 2027, and June 1, 2028, as required by CPUC Decisions D.21-06-035, D.23-02-040, and D.24-02-047; and (ii) additional generic capacity in response to potential procurement targets under CPUC Rulemaking 25-06-019 to come online by and between June 1, 2027, and June 1, 2032. SDG&E is soliciting resources including energy storage systems (ESS) and California Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS)-eligible renewable generation hybrid and co-located energy storage systems. Total procurement requirement is 619.5 megawatts (MWs) of net qualifying capacity (NQC), comprised of: Firm zero-emitting resources (41.4 MW by 2028), Long-duration storage resources (41.4 MW by 2028), and Any other type of non-fossil-fueled resource (536.6 MW distributed 2023-2028). All contracts shall have a minimum duration of 10 years. SDG&E has a preference for projects at or around the NQC targets but will accept and consider offers for larger projects.
