Con Edison is requesting information on clean and non-emitting solutions to manage peak demand and address transmission security needs within the New York Control Area (NYCA) Zone J, which encompasses New York City. This RFI welcomes proposals from a broad range of respondents including qualified developers, contractors, installers, aggregators, technology partners, governmental agencies, large property managers, and large commercial or residential customers.
Proposed solutions must meet specific criteria: they must not create emissions, must be cost-effective, must be straightforward to deploy in a timely manner, must avoid or minimize negative impacts to disadvantaged communities, and must have a reliable and clearly verifiable impact on demand. The RFI focuses on identifying technology-agnostic solutions that can contribute to grid reliability.
