Silicon Valley Clean Energy Authority (SVCE) seeks qualified firms of certified public accountants to provide financial audit services. The engagement includes preparing and presenting an audit of SVCE's basic financial statements accompanied by required supplemental information for the fiscal period commencing October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023. The audit shall be performed in accordance with U.S. generally accepted auditing standards and Governmental Accounting Standards Board pronouncements. The auditor must express an opinion on the fair presentation of basic financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, prepare Management's Discussion and Analysis, Basic Financial Statements, and Notes to Basic Financial Statements. The auditor may be required to issue a report outlining any deficiencies in internal control if applicable. The firm must work directly with SVCE's accountant (Maher Accounting), Chief Financial Officer Amrit Singh, Deputy Director of Administrative Services Kevin Armstrong, and other SVCE staff on a regular basis. The firm must respond to reasonable inquiries of successor auditors and allow successor auditors to review working papers. All working papers must be retained for a minimum of seven years at the auditor's expense. The firm may be required to meet with SVCE Board members and must be prepared to attend in-person final presentation of audited financial statements to the Board, likely in Cupertino. Regular monthly progress reports are required. The initial term is one year with potential extensions subject to annual review, satisfactory negotiation of terms, Board approval, and availability of appropriation.
